Merle D. Holle, 78, of Marysville, KS, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Monday, March 21, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 22 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller will officiate. The organists will be Susan Moore and Janet Fritschi. The vocalist, Jody Helton, will sing “The Lord’s Prayer”. The congregational hymns will be “I’m But a Stranger Here”, “I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus”, and “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus”. The pallbearers will be Curtis Holle, Keith Holle, Joel Endorf, Dylan Goeckel, Clinton Fritschi, Shawn McGrath, and Auston Goeckel. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Merle was born November 7, 1937, at Herkimer, KS, to Edwin and Hulda Holle. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Herkimer. Merle was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and held various church offices. In 1955, he graduated from Marysville High School and was a lifelong farmer. In 2015, he retired from Rural Crop Insurance Services as a crop adjuster due to failing health. He belonged to many farming organizations. On October 12, 1958, he married Mary Ann Duis at Lanham, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin Holle and Don Holle; grandson, Craig Holle; and son-in-law, Mark Damman. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; children, Kim (Colleen) Holle, Marysville, Deb Damman, Holton, and Beth (Randy) Goeckel, Hanover; brother, Daryl (Donna) Holle, Berthoud, CO; four grandchildren, Stacy McGrath, Sara Endorf, Dylan Goeckel, and Auston Goeckel; and two great-grandchildren, Hadley McGrath and Cora Endorf. A memorial fund is established to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Fellowship Hall. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
