Barbara S. Fenstermacher, 74, of Marysville, KS, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Private family services were held. Barbara was born February 15, 1942 at Corning, KS, to Glenn and Alice (Myers) Alexander. In 1960, she graduated from Frankfort High School. She also graduated from Stewart Beauty Academy in Topeka, KS. On September 3, 1961, she married James L. Fenstermacher at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort, KS. Barbara worked as a hairdresser in the community and provided her services at Mary Marshall Manor, Cambridge Place, Kinsley Mortuary, and the Elm Street Apartments for over 35 years. She enjoyed her work as a Research Librarian at the Marshall County Historical Society. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and loved having sit down family meals. Barb loved doing things with her grandchildren like fishing, working in the garden, helping them with craft projects, and traveling with them around the county for different activities. Going shopping and eating at good restaurants were favorites. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James on May 5, 1993. Survivors include her daughters, Pamela A. Dankenbring, Marysville, and Angela (Jeffrey) Sutton, Manhattan; and seven grandchildren, Lindsey Dankenbring, Mitchell Dankenbring, Casey Cohorst, Cade Cohorst, Segen Sutton, Raylie Sutton, and Baylin Sutton. A memorial fund has been established to the Marshall County Historical Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
