Doris M. Compton, 88, of Marysville, KS, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 14 at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Clifton, KS. Private burial was in the Natoma Cemetery, Natoma, KS. Doris was born on July 9th, 1927 in Eudora, KS, to Roscoe and Mable (Hobrach) Robinson. She served as a Lay Pastor in Northern Kansas, English Teacher throughout the United States and the world, and as a Missionary throughout all the world. Her hobbies included writing poetry, sermons, and plays. She also enjoyed socializing with friends, singing, playing the piano, and worshipping God. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christine Lee Smith; and sister, Helen. Survivors include her grandchildren; Samuel Smith of Wamego, KS; Zoe (Smith) Johnson of Lincoln, NE; and siblings Robert Robinson, Manhattan, KS, and Frances Kinsinger, St. George, UT. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund to be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
