James "Jim" W. Neville, 78, of Marysville, KS, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS. Visitation was Thursday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 27 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. The Fort Riley Honor Guard served as pallbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jim was born November 16, 1937 at Philadelphia, PA, son of Thomas Patrick and Catherine (Mahoney) Neville. In 1955, he graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia. In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1965, he was stationed at Fort Riley, KS. During his enlistment he served two tours of combat operations in Vietnam in 1968 and 1971. In 1977, he retired after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army and moved to Marysville. Jim was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, American Legion, DAV, VFW, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, and Kiwanis. Survivors include his son, Michael J. Neville, and wife Jodi, Spring Hill, KS; sisters, Dolores Kozlow, Mary Corigan, Ann Neville, and Patricia Viola; grandchildren, Jacoby Morris and Dora Morris; and great-grandchildren, Melody Morris and Harmony Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas P. Neville, Jr., John J. Neville, and William J. Neville; and sister, Elizabeth A. Neville.
