Mark A. Volle, 49, Axtell, died May 25, 2016 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Visitation was Monday, May 30, from noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:30, Tuesday, May 31, at the United Methodist Church in Axtell. Rev. Shirley Edgerton and Rev. Daniel Lord officiated. The organist was Lila Alfers and the vocalists were Holly Bryant and Rev. Daniel Lord. Music included “Lord, You Have Come to the Lake Shore”, “Morning Has Broken”, and “Pass It On”. The pallbearers were Josh Volle, Dan Volle, Bill Volle, Richard Volle, Bobby Smith, David Lehman, and James Lehman. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Axtell. Mark was born in Marysville on December 19, 1966 to Lawrence and Irene (Lehman) Volle. He graduated from Axtell High School in 1985 and Manhattan Vo-Tech in 1986. Mark worked as a mechanic at Hiawatha, Washington and Marysville for various Ford dealerships. Mark married Barbara Knackstedt on December 25, 1992. In this union they were blessed with three children, Darcey, Bridgett and Brett. He then worked at Blue River Feed, Axtell; and in 1993, he purchased their mechanic business in Axtell. In 2003, he purchased the Bumper to Bumper Parts Store and later sold the mechanics business in 2011. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and tinkering in his shop and around the house. Mark had a passion for ’67 Dodge Darts, and always insisted on doing his own work. In addition, he dedicated much of his time to the church and the Axtell EMT and Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Barb; daughters, Darcey Volle, Russell, Bridgett Volle, Hays; and son, Brett Volle, Axtell. He is also survived by his stepfather, Kenny Cain, Axtell; sisters, Lorna (Ed) Farrell, Axtell, Rhonda (Loren) Wassenberg, Blue Rapids; and stepbrothers, Rick Cain, Axtell, Wally (Marla) Cain, Manhattan, John Cain, Topeka, Don Cain, Longford and Vernon Cain, Marysville; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lawrence Volle and Irene (Lehman) (Volle) Cain; and niece, Barbara "Barbie" Cain. A memorial fund is established for the Axtell United Methodist Church; Roof and Building repairs and contributions may be sent in care of Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home, Axtell.
