A. D. Lewis passed away on April 25, 2016 at the age of 83. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in his hometown of Frankfort, KS on June 11, at 2 pm at the Frankfort Cemetery. Born to Clyde Lewis & Myrtle (Brokaw) Lewis, A. D. was the seventh child of thirteen children. In March 1950, he enlisted in the Navy, served 3 1/2 yrs during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in Sept 1953. He returned to Frankfort and married Patty Ann Martin on November 23,1953 and raised four children. A.D. attended Midwest Business College of Pueblo, CO to learn Railroad Telegraphy (Morse Code), and spent 37 years with the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. The family moved several times and retired in Dalhart, TX They later moved to Fritch, TX, by Lake Meredith. Both loved being with family, Rving, playing cards, dominoes and lots of fishing. A. D. is survived by two sons, Martin Lewis, wife Helen of Guymon, OK, Robert Lewis of Dumas, TX; twin daughters, Kathleen Messer(Pete) of York, SC, Kathreen (Charley), husband Larry Smith of Terrell, TX; three sisters, Vera Lee Durham and Karen Kelly of Topeka, KS, Mary Anna, husband Bob Taylor of Park City, KS; one brother, Bill Lewis of Goddard, KS; and 10 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews.
