Geraldine O. Holle, 85, of Marysville, KS, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Rosemary Forst played the organ while the church choir sang "Be Not Afraid”, “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles Wings”, “Song of Farewell” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Joseph Schmidt, Kent Wassenberg, Thad Russell, Phil Holle, Russell Ogg and Greg Doll. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Geraldine was born September 25, 1923 at Marysville, the daughter of Percy and Clara (Mentgen) Wadham. On October 2, 1944 she married Glenn P. Holle. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1941. She graduated as a RN from St. Catherine's in 1944. She worked at St. Mary's in Minneapolis, MN, Randell Hospital, Haerle Hospital and Community Memorial Healthcare until retiring on April Fools day in 1986. Geraldine enjoyed baking, quilting, raising flowers, gardening, but most of all her biggest joy was helping others when ever and where ever she could. She spent many days researching family history for her own family as well as for people who lived great distances away. She spent years volunteering at both the Physician's Clinic and the Hospital. She spent many hours every day in the past six years volunteering at Cambridge Place. She was a member of RSVP and Marshall County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Paul, Larry, Ambrose, John and Gilbert Wadham; and four sisters, Christine Monroy, Kathlene Wadham, Mary Rowlette and Patricia Russell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Historical Society or Marysville High School Alumni Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
