William 'Bill" Benkendorf, 67, of Marysville, KS, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Tuesday, August 16, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A graveside funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, at the Marysville City Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Zanker officiated. The honorary pallbearers were Sonny Mick, Claude Hittle, Galen Latta and Richard Stonger. Bill was born March 28, 1949 at Chicago, IL, to William and Margaret (Barker) Benkendorf. He attended school in Blue Rapids. Bill worked for Union Pacific Railroad, painted houses, and worked for Landoll’s. Visiting with friends and family and walking, were some of his enjoyments. Survivors include his sons, Allen Benkendorf, Marysville, Richard Benkendorf, Wamego, Matt (Beth) Benkendorf, Bremen, and Brandon (Brittany) Benkendorf, Hanover; brother, Jimmy Benkendorf, Manhattan; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Pat. Kinsley Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
