William "Bill" A. Oehm, 61, of Marysville, KS, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville after a short illness. Visitation was Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 12 at St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Father Nathan Haverland officiated. The pallbearers were Paul Oehm, Charlie Oehm, Ron Sparks, Frank Wassenberg, Jim Ellenbecker, and David Zimmerman. The honorary pallbearers were Ed Oehm, Larry Oehm, Bob Yager, Gary Duever, Don Cudney, and Pat Ellenbecker. Bill was born on January 30, 1955 at Marysville to Everett and Delsie (Black) Oehm. After high school he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in B&B. He later went to work for KDOT and retired after nearly 30 years of service. Bill also worked with his wife at their flower shop “Bloomers”. In his spare time Bill enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, fishing, boating and just being outdoors. Bill also enjoyed country cruising and playing softball. He was a member of the country club and Crappie Club. On May 25, 1985, Bill was united in marriage to Pam Habr at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Sue Oehm, on March 26, 2008; parents; and brother, David L. Oehm. Survivors include his daughter, Katie Lynn Oehm (Zach Stade), Marysville; step daughter, Alina Jo, Marysville; four brothers, Charlie (Ruth) Oehm, Marysville, Paul (Cathy) Oehm, Manhattan, KS, Larry (Mary) Oehm, Clovis, NM, and Edwund (Janet) Oehm, Lincoln, NE; sister, Margery (Gerald) Richmond, Topeka, KS; and three grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the Blue River Rail Trail. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
