David O. Sampson, 76, of Marysville, KS, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Marysville. Mr. Sampson was born September 20, 1939 at Steele City, NE, son of Calvin O. and Edith B. (Tripp) Sampson. On March 28, 1959, he married Maxine Rudkins in Steele City, NE. He graduated from Steele City High School, and attended Fairbury Junior College, Peru State, and Kansas State University earning his Master’s Degree. Mr. Sampson taught high school and college classes for 35 years at Marysville High School. From 1957 to 1960 he served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mr. Sampson was a bee keeper and would collect and sell the honey locally. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, and watching and feeding birds. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Sampson. Survivors include his wife, Maxine; two daughters, Lisa Baumgartner, Sabetha, KS, and Jill Choate, Durango, CO; brother, Kent Sampson, Adams, NE; and four grandchildren. Kinsley Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
