Leland “Keith” McMahon, 83, Richmond, KS, passed away peacefully in Lawrence on November 16, 2016. Visitation is 9 a.m., Saturday, November 19, at the Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A rosary service will be prayed at 10 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Kinsley Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at the St. Therese Catholic Church in Richmond, KS on November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Keith was born on July 29, 1933 in Marysville to Raymond and Alice (Harrison) McMahon. He graduated from Beattie High School in 1951 and was a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Keith spent his life working in the construction field, working for Reno Construction Co., United Construction Co., and APAC of Kansas. On April 29, 1957, he married Betty JoAnn Sunderland. Keith was an active and cherished member of the St. Therese Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and was a Boy Scout Den Leader. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be missed by the many lives he touched. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Betty; and four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his five children, Tammy (Richard), Ottawa, Frank (Katy), Lawrence, Lonnie (Brenda), Ottawa, Greg (Dena), Lyndon and Amy, Kansas City, MO; sister, Dee Milne, North Platte, NE; and fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
