Patricia "Patty" Alquist, 92, of Marysville, KS, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Country Place Senior Living in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. The Rev. Tony Putti officiated. Jane Sedlacek and Amy Jacques provided music. Hymns were "Here I Am Lord," "I Bless You," "You Raised Me Up" and "The Prayer." Burial was in the St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ivan Sedlacek, Chris Harper, Jay Harper, Joseph Sedlacek, Alan Wassenberg and Brian Wassenberg. Patty was born August 3, 1916 at Beattie to Frank and Agnes (McMahon) Hardman. She graduated from Beattie High School. She was united in marriage to Carl Oscar Alquist on April 21, 1936. Patty was a homemaker, worked for City Sewing,and a mother and the best grandmother. Patty was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church. She loved singing in the church choir in Beattie with her two sisters Donna and Jeanette, her family was everything to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl on August 14, 1989; and her sisters, Donna Gaston and Jeanette Wassenberg. She is survived by her son Jay Alquist, Phoenix, Az; and grandchildren, Ann McKee of Marbella, Spain, Julie Swartz of Scottsdale, Az and Patrick Alquist of Phoenix, AZ.
