Charlotte Corrine Wullschleger, 79, known to her family and friends as Corrine, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Overland Park, KS. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. Visitation was one hour prior to service time. Rev. Marilyn Sweet officiated. Carol O’Neal played the organ while Pat Breeding sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”. The pallbearers were Josh Balducci, T.J. Rogers, Brian Wullschleger, Nick Wullschleger, James Shaughnessy, and Mark Wullschleger. Burial was in the Marysville Cemetery. Corrine was born March 11, 1937 at Parsons, KS, the eldest daughter of Wilbur and Catherine (Standridge) Hill. She grew to womanhood in rural Parsons, attended Parsons High School and graduated in 1954. She continued her education and attended Labette County Community College for two years. On July 9, 1955, she married Jacob Charles Wullschleger in Vista, CA, while Jake was in the U.S. Navy. She worked in banking before moving from California to Kansas in 1958, to help her husband farm with his parents, Ern and Gertrude Wullschleger. Corrine and Jake raised their three children, Michelle, Dan, and Chuck. In 1985, Corrine and Jake moved to Miami County, KS, near their daughter Michelle, and Jake worked for the county road department. During her working career in health care, she began at Marysville’s Community Memorial Hospital. She also worked at Landoll’s Corporation before moving to Miami County. She continued in health care as a unit secretary, working at the Olathe Medical Center and Overland Park Regional Medical Center, prior to her retirement. Corrine was a member of Lucky Mrs. EHU and NHAUC (National Health Association of Unit Coordinators). She loved to cook, sew, crossword search puzzles, play Bunko, and loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Catherine (Standbridge) Hill; husband, Jake in 2010; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Thornburg; and a sister-in-law, Wanda (Larry) Wullschleger. Survivors include her children, Michelle (Tom) Rogers, Kansas City, KS, Dan (Carolyn) Wullschleger, Frankfort, and Chuck (Stacy) Wullschleger, Marysville; brother-in-law, Larry Wullschleger, Prairie Village, KS; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 West 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
