Arlene Vaughn, 90, of Frankfort, KS, died Wednesday, August 26 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29 at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The Rev. Marilyn Wullschleger officated. Jane Sedlacek was organist. Hymns were "In The Garden," "Going Down the Valley" and "Amazing Grace." Burial was in the Frankfort City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Corey Bowles, Darrin Bowles, Kirby Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Wyatt Bowles, Kyle Vaughn and Jarrett Bowles. Arlene Vaughn was born June 12, 1919, at Axtell. She attended Mount Hope Grade School and Axtell High School. She married Gerald Vaughn on March 3, 1937 at Marysville. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her grandchildren and quilting. Survivors include her son, Jerry of Frankfort; five grandsons, six great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Briney of Downs. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband and by her daughter, Judy Brandt in May 1991. Memorial contributions can be made to the Frankfort Care Home and sent in care of the mortuary.
