Warda E. Argo, 99, of Marysville, KS, died March 24, 2017 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Monday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 28 at the United Methodist Church in Oketo. Rev. Dale Lewis officiate. Deb Landoll played the organ while the congregation sang “Til the Storm Passes By” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. The pallbearers were Jeff Argo, Brian Argo, Doug Argo, Dan Argo, Greg Argo, and Jared Argo. Burial was in the Oketo Cemetery. Warda was born May 6, 1917, near Oketo, KS, daughter of Elmer and Flora (Shafer) Triggs. She attended school in Oketo. In 1933, she married Marvin Argo. They were the parents of three sons and farmed near Oketo until 1972 when they retired and moved into Oketo. She was a member of the Oketo Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Marshall County Historical Society, and the Oketo Museum Society. She began playing the piano for Sunday School at the age of 10. She was honored by the congregation in May 1997 for having been available as church pianist and organist for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Marvin on September 12, 1996. Survivors include her sons, Arlan (Shirley) Argo, rural Liberty, NE, Duane (Joyce) Argo, rural Wymore, NE, and Kent (Cindy) Argo, Sioux City, IA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; a cousin, nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church to be used for missionary work. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
