Victor C. Blecharczyk, 75, Marysville, KS, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE. Funeral visitation was Monday, May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. At 6:45 p.m., Rev. Marilyn Sweet spoke. At. 7:00 p.m., Military Honors were presented by the American Legion SMNR Post #163 and the Legion Riders. Victor Carl Blecharczyk was born January 20th, 1942, in Leavenworth, KS, to Victor and Florence (Ellenberger) Blecharczyk. In 1959, he graduated from Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Michigan and then attended college at Detroit College of Business. On December 17, 1966, Vic was united in marriage to Kathryn Edith Schell in Detroit, Michigan. The family made their home in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, until relocating to Marysville in 1982 where Vic owned and operated J&N Office Supplies. Vic also thoroughly enjoyed pleasing his customers as a member of the team at Downard's Food Market. Vic was very proud of his service to his country as a member of the U.S. Army, during which period he was deployed to Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and traveling. His passion and skill as a thespian was unrivaled for over 30 years. You could always plan on him providing comedic performances as he was known to go “off script” on a regular basis. Vic passed away on April 24, 2017 at the age of 75, at the Select Specialty Hospital (Bryan West) in Lincoln, Nebraska after a battle with lung disease. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor; mother, Florence Blecharczyk; as well as his sister, Betty, and brother-in-law, Dwayne Rupe, of Valentine, NE. Survivors include his loving wife Kathy; niece, Jane Ann Rice and her husband Jimmy of Chadron, NE; nephew, John K. Rupe and his wife Joan of Valentine, NE; niece, Karen Kay Campbell and her husband Tom of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Kandy (Frank) Trace of Milford, Michigan; sister-in-law, Connie (Bob) Tober of Lexington, Kentucky; as well as several loving nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to the Marysville Area Community Theatre. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
