Jay was born June 29, 1928, on a farm north of Summerfield, KS, to Charles William "Bill" and Reva (Mitchell) Glynn. He attended Lonestar Country School. At the age of 14, he lived with his Grandpa and Grandma Mitchell to help his Grandpa with the farming. He graduated from high school in Seneca, KS. On May 29, 1951, he married Rita Feldkamp. They lived on Grandpa and Grandma Mitchell's farm and raised their children, Leroy, David, Deanna, and Nancy. Jay loved the farm, raising Hereford cattle, going to auctions, and restoring old cars and trucks. Jay and Rita took their cars and trucks to car shows, parades, and occasionally weddings. He restored the first car he bought, a 1930 Model A Ford. He was also very proud of restoring a REO Speedwagon. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed laughing with people. We will miss his stories and laughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Leroy; parents, Bill and Reva Glynn; sister, Margaret "Peggy" Glynn; and a grandson, Jason Oenbring. Survivors include his wife, Rita Glynn, of the farm; son, David (Maxine) Glynn; daughters, Deanna Oenbring (special friend Mike Sheldon), and Nancy (Roger) Thiemann, Pawnee City, NE; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy and Josh Glynn, Eric Schmitz, Holly Wempe, and Megan Thiemann; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Doris) Glynn; and a sister, Helen (Jack) Transue.
