James A. Marksman, 84, Frankfort, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Onaga, KS. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday June 2, at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A rosary service was at 7 p.m., Friday, June 2, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m., Saturday, June 3, at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Daniel Schmitz officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ and led the congregation singing “Here I Am Lord”, “Be Not Afraid”, "One Bread, One Body", “Song of Farewell”, and “Lord of the Dance”. The pallbearers were Matt Ohlde, Jerry Hoffman, Jerry Stowell, Matt Schindler, George Mansell, and Shawn Klingele. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort. James A. Marksman, 84, Frankfort, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Onaga, KS. He was born on June 7, 1932, at Frankfort, the son of Francis and Teresa (Deneke) Marksman. He graduated from Frankfort High School and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After he was discharged from the service, James worked for Union Pacific Railroad in the maintenance division, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Survivors include sister, Teresa Kuckleman, Frankfort; twin brother, William Marksman, Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Paul Marksman and John Marksman; and sisters, Rosemary Augustine, Anne Feltner, and Elizabeth Hoffman. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.
