Martha M. Bartels, 68, died June 5, 2017 at Lincoln, Nebraska. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Immanuel (Stateline) Lutheran Church, north of Marysville. Rev. Ken Kramer officiated. Marilyn Luppen was the organist. Music included “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Take My Hand, Dear Father”, and “On Eagles Wings”. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Martha was born on June 7, 1948, in rural Washburn County, Lampson, WI, to Warren and Dollie (Butterfield) Bass. She married Richard Bartels at the Stateline Lutheran Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Susan, George, Johnny Lee and Kathy. Survivors include her husband, Richard; step-children, Margaret (Ken) Hodd, Audrey (Larry Stohs) Yaussi, Carol (Mark) Obermeyer and Richard (Darcy) Bartels; step daughter-in-law, Barb Bartels; brother, Daniel R. Bass; sister, Melissa Vansel; brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams; and eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four nephews, one niece, one great-nephew and one great-niece. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
