Barbara J. Welch

Barbara J. Welch, aged 80, finished her journey of life, at home in Gulf Breeze, FL, on August 27, 2017 with her partner Dean Allmon by her side. Barbara Jane Gilstrap Welch was the daughter of Minnie Velton and William Gilstrap. She was born August 24, 1937, in Hoisington, KS. She was the sister of Wilma, Mary Virginia (Punch) and William Roy Gilstrap. Barbara married James Lee Welch and moved to Frankfort, Kansas where she and Jim raised three children, her daughter Deborah Welch of Frankfort, KS and sons Kevin Welch of El Dorado, KS and Jon Welch of Cincinnati, OH. They lived in Frankfort until the death of Jim in 2002. Barbara moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida with Dean. She adored her grandchildren (Lily, Madison, Meghan, Christopher, Alex, Bryant, Maddox, Brighton and Dylan). Barbara loved life and all the awe factors that excited her. Her smile would constantly brighten the room. She enjoyed being with friends in workout and coffee, decorating, gardening and continuing to try new things. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort, KS. The burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery and then there will be a remembrance social at the Cigna Center after the services.
