Mary H. Wetter, 86, of Marysville, died September 18, 2017 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Wednesday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21 at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father Gova Narisetty officiated. Dolores Bruna played the organ while the church choir sang “Here I Am Lord,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Bread, Blessed and Broken,” “On Eagles Wings.” “You Are Mine” and “I Have Loved You.” . The pallbearers were Joseph V. Wetter, Scott Wetter, Jake Wetter, Lee Wetter, Brennan Wetter, Logan Wetter, and Brian Yager. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mary was born February 3, 1931, near Herkimer, to Frank and Ida (Heckmann) Nietfeld. She attended country school, St. Gregory’s Catholic School, and graduated from Marysville High School in 1948. She then attended and graduated from St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Sabetha. On May 6, 1953, she married Joseph J. Wetter at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Mary was a Registered Nurse and served as the Head Surgical Nurse at the Randall Hospital. In 1957, she quit work to raise her children. In 1968, she and her husband began OK Tires. Mary worked as the bookkeeper and continued when her son, Mike, purchased the business and it became Mike’s OK Tires. She retired in 2011. She was member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and Altar Society. Mary’s faith and family were very important to her. She enjoyed going fishing, playing bingo, flowers, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph J. Wetter on Feb. 16, 1995; daughter, Cindy Wetter; brother, Leo Nietfeld; sisters, Paula Holle and Walda Hand; and grandson, Lucas Wetter. Survivors include sons, Joseph F. (Mary Ellen) Wetter, Mike Wetter, James Wetter, and Mark (Nikki) Wetter; daughters, Jeanne (Dennis) Tjaden and Cathy (Steve) Yager, all of Marysville; sister, Hedwig (Junior) Goeckel, Hanover; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church or St. Gregory’s Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
