Elizabeth A. Seematter, 91, of Beattie, KS, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 15, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Beattie. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 16 at the church. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Laura O'Neil was the organist. Music included "Be Not Afraid", "Take My Hands", "On Eagles Wings", "Ave Maria", "Song of Farewell" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers were Dwayne Seematter, Danny Seematter, Donny Armstrong, Frank Nietfeld, Jason Seematter, Ron Wagner, John Schreiner, Derek Wilder and Greg Jasko. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Seematter, David Seematter, Justin Armstrong, Tony Nietfeld, Steve Nietfeld, Benjamin Bussmann, Eric Bussmann, Michael Bussmann, Joe Bussmann, Pat Bussmann, Andy Bussmann, Shawn Seematter, Scott Schreiner, Jarrod Schreiner and Adam Screiner. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery in Marysville. Elizabeth was born April 21, 1918 at Delia, KS, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Salisbury) Hurla. On August 2, 1939, she married Arthur Seematter at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1978. She worked at Stormont Vail Hospital as a Nurse's Aide and Seamore Eggs where she broke and separated eggs during the depression. She also was a homemaker and helped take care of her children and grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Helen Armstrong; one infant son; three brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Bernard; three sisters, Charlotte, Monica and Beulah; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Survivors include three sons, Paul Seematter and wife Ruby of Paxico, KS, Gerald Seematter and wife Sharon of Frankfort, and Jim Seematter and wife Marsha of Hoyt, KS; five daughters, Teresa Bussmann and husband Benny of Marysville, Alice Wagner and husband Bob of Frankfort, Anna Wilder of Burlingame, KS, Lois Schreiner and husband John of Frankfort, Bernice Jasko and husband Keith of Beattie; son-in-law, Harold Armstrong of Frankfort; two sisters, Mary Bridges and Gina Riddle, both of Topeka; forty-five grandchildren; sixty-one great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Memorial may be made to Relay for Life and sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
