Jon Paul "J.P." Beckman, 48, of Frisco, TX, and formerly of Marysville, died September 22, 2017 in Texas.Visitation was Thursday, October 5, from noon to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.  The family received friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated.  Deb Landoll was the organist and Wayne Kruse was the vocalist.  Music included “Friends” and “When I Get Where I’m Going”.The pallbearers were Lucas Polson, Mathew Beckman, Scott Hunninghake, Logan Zimmermann, Michael Hasenkamp, Jr., and William George Gugenhan V.Private burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. J.P. was born July 26, 1969 at Marysville to Mardell LeRoy "John" and Bonnie Jean (Flin) Beckman. He graduated Marysville High School in 1987. J.P. worked for Boogarts, Rainbow Bread, Frito Lay and lastly, Union Pacific Railroad. In 2001, he moved to Texas, where he was a conductor, foreman and brakeman for the railroad. He was the local chairman of the Union. He enjoyed his work family in Texas and going to lunch with his friends, to the location of the chosen coupon of the day. J.P. never missed a Christmas or Thanksgiving, and a lot of food was always involved. He enjoyed anything that involved food. JP enjoyed extreme couponing, hosting many get togethers with family and friends, Black Friday shopping, Royals and Rangers games, gambling and smoking cigars. He would go after Christmas shopping with Gary, Lee, Kate and Pooh! J.P. was full of life and loved by all. Preceding him in death was his father, Mardell “John”; and his grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Jean; children, Jordan Beckman, Nick Beckman and Christian Cumro; siblings, Kate (Lee) Reith, Washington, Sherri (Brent) Polson, Marysville, Jennifer (Corey) Woodyard, Blue Rapids, Gary Beckman, Marysville, Kelly (Paul) Jay, Omaha, NE and Kim (Clinton) Day, Marysville.
