Eileen Helen Helmlinger Bramlage, 89, of Frankfort, KS, died October 11, 2017 at the Nemaha Valley Hospital in Seneca, KS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a loving friend to many. Visitation is Friday, October 13, from noon until 5 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 14, at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Daniel Schmitz will officiate. Organist, Jeanne Gerstner and choir join the congregation singing "On Eagles Wings", "Here I Am Lord", "Be Not Afraid", and "Mother Dear, O Pray for Me". Grandson, violinist Seth Bramlage, will perform "Ave Maria". Scriptures read by lector Ron Bramlage and offertory gifts presented by granddaughters, Christel, Ashlynn, Lindsay and Alissa. The pallbearers will be Joel Slough, Ryan Heathman, Derek Bramlage, Seth Bramlage, Graham Foust, and Randy Bramlage. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Hanover, KS. Eileen was born May 31, 1928 near Hanover, KS, to Eugene and Helen Smetana Helmlinger. She was raised on the family farm near Hanover and attended Prairie Hill School, a one room schoolhouse in the country. On September 14, 1949, she married Gilbert Bramlage. To this union six children were born. She spent her life raising their children. They lived on a farm in Washington County for five years and then moved to Frankfort in 1954. Eileen helped at the Gambles store, did volunteer work at the Frankfort Community Care Home and Annunciation church where she was a member. She was also a member of Altar Society and R.S.V.P. She enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert, an infant son Dennis, and brother, Edward Helmlinger. Survivors include her children, Janet Valigura, Topeka, Ron Bramlage, Frankfort, Judy (Steve) Slough, Topeka, Ken (Carmen) Bramlage, McKinney, TX, and Lois (Gary) Heathman, Lenexa, KS, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, sister, Edna Hynek, and many relatives and friends. A memorial fund has been established to Annunciation Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
