Dakota William Farrant, 26, of rural Frankfort, KS, died October 20, 2017. Visitation was held from noon until 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 25 at Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort. A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. October 26, at the United Methodist Church, Frankfort. Rev. Norma Jean Miller officiated. Musicians were Jane Sedlacek and Amy Jacques, songs were "Here I Am Lord" and "Jealous of the Angels." Tributes were by Carrie Knox and Cassidy Jones. Pallbearers were Phillip Wilson, Alec Slifer, Kason Brown, Kevin Slifer, Adam Slifer and Travis Kokoruda. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Thomas, Rick Wilson, Brandon Schell, Bobby Shortle, Josh Massie and Calahan Brown. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Frankfort. Dakota was born June 2, 1991 at Manhattan, to William and Tammy (Jones) Farrant. He was baptized in February 2003 at the United Methodist Church. Dakota graduated in 2010 from Marysville High School. He worked for Parker Harvesting and worked utility construction for Josh Massie, Inc. In his spare time, Dakota enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and kayaking. He was known for his contagious smile and he gave without the expectation of something in return. Survivors include his father, William Farrant, Frankfort; mother, Tammy Pacha, Frankfort; grandparents, Casey and Alice Jones, Frankfort; brother, Casey Farrant, Frankfort; sister, Ava Pacha, Frankfort; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandfather, William Farrant; grandmother, Carrie Arbutus Jones; aunt, Karla Kay Jones; and uncle, Scott Farrant. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.
