Rosella Ann Searcey, 91, of Marysville, Kan., formerly of Barneston, Neb., died Thursday, October 26, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Sunday, October 29, from 12 p.m. (noon) – 3 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wymore, Neb. at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wymore. Father Robert Barnhill officiated. Pallbearers were Dustin Searcey, Chad Searcey, Shannon Searcey, Shane Searcey, Ben Searcey, and Jordan Shamblin. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Barneston. Rosella was born February 7, 1926 in Barneston, daughter of Frank and Emelia (Nespor) Pacha. She graduated from Barneston High School in 1944. On February 9, 1948, she married Russell E. Searcey at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Barneston. To this union three sons were born, Gail, Max, and L.G. She worked as a school cook for the Barneston Consolidated School. In 2011, Rosella and Russell moved from Barneston to Marysville. Rosella was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Barneston and then St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. She was also a member of the Barneston American Legion Auxiliary. Her brightest smiles were when her family was all together, and she could cook for them. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Duane Pacha and John Pacha; and sister, Theola Lane. Survivors include her husband, Russell; sons, Gail (Connie) Searcey, Lincoln, Max (Patty) Searcey, Marysville, and L.G. (Becky) Searcey, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Joan Pacha, Hanover, Kan.; six grandchildren, Dustin Searcey, Chad Searcey, Shannon (Mike Bussmann) Searcey, Shane Searcey, Ben (Hannah) Searcey, and Jordan (Brett) Shamblin; and eight great-grandchildren, Cash Searcey, Covey Searcey, Slayton Searcey, Stone Searcey, Beau, Bailee, and Bree Bussmann, and Emery Searcey. A memorial fund has been established to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Barneston, Neb. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
