D. Jeannette Fincham, 83, of Blue Rapids, Kan., died November 11, 2017 at Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids. Visitation was Wednesday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 16, at the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids. Gary Phillips officiated. Jan Pope played the organ while Kim Oatney sang “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden”. Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids. Jeannette was born July 28, 1934 at Blue Rapids, daughter of Charles D. and Mary Margaret (Wells) Jenkins. In 1951, she graduated from Blue Rapids High School. On March 15, 1954, she married Arthur Eugene "Gene" Fincham at Newkirk, Okla. She was a lifelong resident of Blue Rapids. Jeannette worked at the Blue Rapids Medical Clinic and raised four children. In retirement, she was an Arizona Snowbird during the winter months where she perfected her love of woodcarving. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela Fincham; and siblings, Betty Wanamaker, Peg Yungeberg, Pete Jenkins, and Natalie Persell. Survivors include her husband, Gene; two daughters, Pat DeMelo (Dee), Blue Rapids, and Penni Meisel (Richard), South Padre Island, Tex.; son, Jeb Fincham (Pam), Winfield, Kan.; six grandchildren, Benjamin Deavours, Jordan DeMelo, Joshua Fincham, Nicole Fincham, Theodore Meisel, and Sophie Meisel; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
