Shirley Ann Little, 87, of Marysville, Kansas passed away November 21, 2017 at Community Memorial Hospital. Visitation is Thursday, November 23 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 24 at the United Methodist Church, Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis will officiate. Gail Gilkerson is the organist. Pallbearers will be Philip Bruna, Scott Kohout, Chris Boesiger, Steve Sowers, Jason Newhall and Kyle Halverson. Honorary pallbearer is John Glaser. Burial will be at the Marysville City Cemetery. Shirley Ann Little was born on May 2, 1930 in Beattie, Kansas to Elmer and Gladys (Lewis) Anderson. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1948. She attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri for one year. Then she married the love of her life. On August 27, 1950 she married Arthur Little at the Marysville Methodist Church. Art and Shirley lived in Marysville, Kansas their entire lives. Together they loved attending their children and then their grandchildren's sporting events. They were avid sports fans and could always be found at home watching a game on the TV. They enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, soaps, fishing and camping. They had a wonderful group of friends that they spent fun times with. Shirley worked at Ar-Ex for 45+ years. She became a fixture of downtown Marysville. So many people fondly remember going into the store and seeing her and her beautiful smile. She retired in 2007. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of two different bridge clubs, The Marysville Country Club, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Marysville Methodist Church. Shirley loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of playing board games with her and putting on plays and skits for her. Shirley’s eyes lit up when her great grandchildren came to visit her and she loved their hugs and smiles. Shirley was a gentle lady with the sweetest heart. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughters Cindy (Marv) Renner of Firth, NE, Kristi (Tim) Plumb of Lawerence, KS and Lynda (Don) Bruna of Marysville, KS; brother, Bob Anderson of Mercer Island, WA; special friend, Bob Shipman of Marysville, KS; grandchildren Lisa Kohout, Misty Phillips, Christina Boesiger, Robin Sowers, Renee Newhall, Philip Bruna, Amber Glaser and Courtney Halverson; 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Helen Heeney. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family.
