Carolyn M. Walters, 90, formerly of Marysville, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center in Wymore, NE. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 29, at Kinsley Mortuary. Father Steven Major officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Wayne Kruse sang "On Eagles Wings" and "I'll Be Seeing You". Pallbearers were Mike Williams, Shane Larson, Jerry Williams, Charlie Weickert, Kevin McKee and Gary O'Neal. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Carolyn was born November 9, 1918 at Herkimer, KS, the daughter of Ben & Lucy Holloway. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1936. On April 8, 1950, she married Robert C. Walters at Belleville, KS. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2000. She worked for Kansas Power & Light in the Marysville office before living in Omaha where she worked for the Carpenter Paper Co. until moving to Marysville in 1960. She enjoyed taking care of her home and yard, attending family events, dogs and her granddaughters activities. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Patty Weickert and husband Bill of Beatrice, NE; one sister, Ruth Overman of Marysville; two granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica Weickert of Beatrice; and one niece, Nancy Williams and husband Jerry of Waterville, KS. The Carolyn Walters Memorial Fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
