On February 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Raymond Jurgens at the First Lutheran Church in Summerfield. She attended First Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for almost 20 years and helped with the Christmas program every year. Mary Frances was a farm wife her entire life, moving to Cambridge Place in 2013. She raised a large garden and chickens. She would be seen carrying eggs in her apron and hauling hot water to the chickens in winter. Her specialty was making homemade bread with churned butter and fresh jelly. She loved being able to help celebrate her son’s birthday in August. Her sons were born on the same day, a year apart. Mary Frances had more than 100 different varieties of Iris, with names and places she got them from. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 1994; and a brother, Leroy Stock. Survivors include her children, Phyllis (Vince) O’Toole, Marysville, Gary (Carlene) Jurgens and Dale Jurgens, all of Summerfield; and two grandchildren, Vince (Amie) O’Toole and Lena O’Toole. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
