Lance Richard Lingard, 62, died on December 8, 2017, at the Frankfort Community Care Home in Frankfort, Kan. Lance was born June 14, 1955 in Belmond, Iowa, to Rev. Richard H. and Jeanette (Jaeger) Lingard (Hanson). Over the years, Lance resided in the communities of: Rowan, Iowa; Pawnee City and Tilden, Neb.; and Axtell, Beattie and Frankfort, Kan. Lance attended Marysville High School. He worked at the Twin Valley Developmental Services Workshop from 1974-2014, and was a member of the Axtell United Methodist Church. His favorite activities included: collecting pencils, riding his bike, listening to KNDY on his radio, cheering for the Axtell Eagles, checking his “calendae”, and “Shucken and Jiven”. Lance was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Larry Lingard and sister Loretta Winchell. Survivors include a step-father, Charles Hanson (Topeka); brother-in-law, Kim Winchell (Axtell); and many other extended family members who loved him. A public visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, at the United Methodist Church in Axtell. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery, Axtell. The family suggests memorial to Twin Valley Developmental Services, Inc. Contributions may be sent in care of the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home.
