Janice M Haas

Janice M. Haas, 70, of Auburn, Kan., and formerly of Marysville, Kan., died Monday, December 18, 2017. Visitation was Thursday, December 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Nathan Haverland officiated. Jane Sedlacek was the musician. Music included “Be Not Afraid”, “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles Wings”, “You Are Mine” and “Alleluia Sing to Jesus”. The pallbearers were Jerard Haas, Marcus Haas, Lukas Byrd, Rick Busch, Denny Claeys, and Jim Borgerding. The honorary pallbearers were Jim Claeys, Jerry Claeys, McKenzie Menard, Michael Menard, Nickolas Mudd, Clayton Craig, Travis Throm, Ron Haas, and Jason Throm. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Janice was born on January 2, 1947 at Renton, Washington, to Victor and June (Bolsen) Claeys. The family moved to Marysville and Janice graduated from Marysville High School. On October 6, 1967, she was united in marriage to Greg Haas. To this union four children were born, Jerard, Marcus, Saundra and Melissa. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. For a while, she worked for Marysville Mutual Insurance Company. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Greg in 2014. Survivors include her children, Jerard (Courtney) Haas, Auburn, Marcus Haas, Marysville, Saundra Haas, Wichita, Kan., and Melissa Haas, Auburn; two brothers, Jim Claeys, Marysville, and Jerry Claeys, Washington State; and six grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
