Diane Marie Tate, 65, of Axtell, Ks. died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca, Ks. Visitation was held on Sunday, January 14, from Noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell. The Rosary was at 7:00 p.m Sunday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Axtell. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Axtell. Father Gova Narisetty officiated. The musicians were Kathy Buessing and Cheryl Reinecke and the music provided was "Parable," "You Are Mine," "The Lord Is My Home" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were David Broxterman, Jorday Broxterman, Caleb Broxterman, Jacob Broxterman, Luke Veltman, Josh Murphy and Brad Musil. Honorary pallbearers were Lincoln Tate, Isaac Loseman and Mariah Broxterman. Burial was in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Axtell. Diane was born on May 21, 1952 in Axtell, to Celestine W. and Dorothy (Deters) Broxterman. in 1970, she graduated from Axtell High School. On June 26, 1971, she married Marvin Tate at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Axtell. They lived in Overland Park, until moving back to Axtell in 1983. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Guild, and the choir. She volunteered at St. Michael’s School Library for over 25 years and was the Axtell City Librarian for 14 years. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Vaughn Broxterman; sister, Barbara Breese; and granddaughter, Sydney Diane Tate. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Tate; children, Dana (Brian) Adams of Topeka, Jeffrey (Misty) Tate, Wichita and Cayla Tate, Marysville; two grandsons, Isaac Loseman and Lincoln Tate; and siblings, Joe Walrod, Russell Broxterman, Marlene Veltman, Jane Musil, Randy Broxterman, Rex Broxterman, Terry Broxterman and Larry Collins. Memorial contributions will be designated later and can be sent in care of the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell.
