Darlene Elaine Iles, 83, of Marysville, Kan., died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation is Monday, February 5, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will greet friends 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller will officiate. Deb Landoll will play the organ while Wayne Kruse sings “On Eagles Wings” and “In the Garden”. The congregation will sing “The Lord is My Shepherd”. The pallbearers are Blake Iles, Blake Mitchell, Drew Hanson, Chad Pike, Brett Sump and Cameron McKeller. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Darlene was born November 16, 1934 near Hollenberg, Kan., daughter of Walter and Ella (Holle) Meyer. In 1952, she graduated from Hanover High School. On January 18, 1953, she married Walter Dean Iles at Trinity Lutheran Church near Hanover. Darlene and Dean farmed near Marysville. She was a homemaker and gardener most of her life. She also worked at City Sewing Machine Co. and Mary Marshall Manor. She was a member of several ladies’ clubs and church organizations. She enjoyed playing cards in many card clubs, traveling with Dean, going to casinos with friends, camping and spending time with family. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dean in 2007; son, Daryl Iles; and an infant son. Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Monica) Iles, David (Chantel) Iles, all of Marysville; daughter, Diana (Gary) Stoecklein, Manhattan, Kan.; sisters, Lucille Love, Manhattan, Velora Wieters, Lanham, Neb.; brother, Walter Meyer, Manhattan; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to Meadowlark Hospice and/or Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
