Catherine Nester, 86, of Marysville, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 3, at the church. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Bob Welch played the organ while the church choir sang “Here I Am Lord”, “Seek You First”, “Ave Maria” and “Soon and Very Soon”. The pallbearers were Ron Grauer, Tim Grauer, Jim Schramm, Tony Schmale, Dale Henderson and Vic Montgomery. Burial was in the church cemetery. Catherine was born November 11, 1923, the daughter of Tom and Anna (Farrell) Mitchell. On April 18, 1944, she married Ralph Nester at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1993. Together they owned and operated the Town and Country Tap Room and Town and Country Cafe until 1985. Catherine was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church where she was an active member. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and her poodles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Ambrose, James and Thomas; and three sisters, Veronica, Margeruite and Frances. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory's Catholic Church or Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
