EmRose E. Mlinar, 88 of Greeley died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Mass of Christian Burial was on Friday, December 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Sidney Bruggeman officiated. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Greeley. EmRose Elizabeth Cook was born February 27, 1921, to John C. Cook and Elizabeth T. (Feiling) Cook on the family farm in Madison County, Nebraska. EmRose attended country school for eight years, Madison High school for two years and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1938. She taught in rural Madison County Schools for six years and for one year in Newman Grove grade school. She attended Wayne State College. On June 2, 1945, EmRose was united in marriage at St. Francis de Sales Country Church in Madison County to Raymond J. Mlinar while he served in the U.S. Navy. They lived at Williamsburg, Va, Flandreu, S.D., Battle Creek, Lyons, Weston, David City, and Verdigre. Since 1973, they have made their home in Greeley, NE. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and a former member of the Greeley Activity Club. Her hobbies included playing cards, sewing, freezing and canning fruits and vegetables, and making jelly. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed loving her family. She took pride in her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends and was always ready for new adventures. Survivors of the immediate family are her loving husband, Raymond Mlinar of Greeley and their eight daughters and six sons. Patricia Callahan of Lincoln, Margaret (Peg) Slusarski and husband Jerome of Columbus, Marilyn Janovec and husband Bob of Niobrara, Rita Shaw and husband Larry of Lincoln, Rosemary (Mony) Walstrom and husband Cleve of Marysville, KS, Mary Voss and husband Bill of Omaha, Jean Havermann and husband Doug of Ogallala, Regina Paesl and husband Ray of Verdigre, John Mlinar and wife Jane of Columbus, Joseph (Joe) Mlinar and wife Dee of St. Paul, James (Jim) Mlinar and wife Michelle of Springfield, IL, Gerard (Jerry) Mlinar and wife Michele of Lindsay, TX, Richard Mlinar and wife Leslie of Doniphan and Robert Mlinar of Ord; 38 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Kirby of Kent, WA, a brother, Robert Cook of Bellevue, NE and her sister-in-law Mabel Cook of Papillion, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, two half brothers and sister-in-law, Gilbert Cook, and Henry and Ida Cook, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Timpe) Cook, infant sister, Virginia Ann, infant brother, John C.
