M. Dolores Tommer, 86, of Frankfort passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Frankfort Community Care Home. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23, at the church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Moogie Roeder was the organist and Rheta Matson was the cantor. Music inlcuded “Here I Am Lord”, "Prayer of St. Francis”, “On This Day, O Beautiful Mother”, “Immaculate Mary” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. The pallbearers were Michael Tommer, Derrick Tommer, Jason Tommer, Charlie Harrington, Tom Carlin and Myron Ellegood. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Dolores was born May 27, 1923, at Lillis, KS, the daughter of Emmett and Josephine (Smith) Carlin. She had three brothers, Adrian, Celeston and Ignatius; and one sister, Ramona. She worked at the Annunciation School Cafeteria, Glynn Dime Store, Clawson Variety Store, Clawson Family Restaurant, Clawson T&C Convertors and The Backdraft Saloon. She was a 50 year member of The American Legion Auxillary, and a member of the Annunciation Altar Society. She enjoyed square dancing, cooking, sewing and needlework. Her grandchildren loved her cinammon rolls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Tommer on March 31, 2008; and one son, Larry Tommer. Survivors include three sons, Gary Tommer and wife Marion of Kansas City, KS, Ron Tommer and wife Janet of Colorado Springs, CO, and Paul Tommer and wife Melody of Frankfort, KS; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
