Erik "Eb" Lance Jueneman, age 38 of Hanover, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at his home. A rosary was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, at the church. Father David Metz officiated. Janet Fritschi played the organ while the church choir sang “I Heard the Voice of Jesus”, “Be Not Afraid”, “On Eagles Wings” and “Here I Am Lord”. Pallbearers were Frank Jueneman, Greg Jueneman, Scott Jueneman, Dan Jueneman, Mike Jueneman, Jeff Jueneman and Kenny Jueneman. Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Erik was born on October 15, 1971, at Marysville, KS, the son of George and Kathleen (Plehal) Jueneman. He attneded St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Hanover High School in 1990. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. Erik worked for Washington County as a deputy sheriff and briefly for the Riley County Police Department. He later worked as a security guard and truck driver. He has lived in Hanover the past 9 years. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his niece and nephews. Survivors include his parents, George and Kathy Jueneman of Hanover; one brother, Wade Jueneman and wife Karen of Topeka; two sisters, Kaylin Mueller and husband Ben of Overland Park, Chelsea Hearting and husband Wade of Lenexa; nephews, Kaden and Shane Jueneman, Cole and Cooper Mueller; and niece, Katie Mueller. A memorial fund has been established in his name and will be designated by the family at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
