Delphine "Dell" B. Stauffer, 71, of Frankfort, KS, died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln, NE. A prayer service was held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, at the church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Moogie Roeder played the organ while Rheta Matson sang "Here I Am Lord", "On Eagles Wings", "Be Not Afraid" and "Amazing Grace". Pallbearers were Corey Jeske, Brian Webb, Taylor Musil, Norman George, David Webb, Bradley Webb and James Webb. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Blaine, KS. Dell was born March 5, 1938 at Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of E.B. and Hazel (Showman) Woodson. She graduated from high school at Poplar Bluff, MO, and then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from The University of Arkansas. She taught at St. Benson Hospital. On November 27, 1965, she married John D. Stauffer at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, KS. They moved to Olathe, KS, where she was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Olathe Medical Center. Dell loved farming with her husband on the weekends at their farm near Frankfort. After he passed away on October 16, 1999, she moved and made the farm her home. She also enjoyed attending church functions, her vegetable garden, canning, baking bread, playing cards, The Arkansas Razorbacks and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Stauffer; and sister, Mary Webb. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Stauffer of Monticello, MN, and Melissa Stauffer of Topeka, KS; one son, Chris Stauffer and wife Carla of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Emma Stauffer, J.J. Stauffer, Corey Jeske, Kristin Jeske, Carlie O'Malley and Zach Wurm; and her extended family.
