Leo Schrader, 96, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Wamego City Hospital. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10 at the Annuniciation Catholic Church with Father Arvl Carasala officiating. The Choir sang, "Here I Am Lord", "Be Not Afraid", and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Jane Sedlacek on the organ. Pallbearers were Allen Craig, Bob Stallbaumer, Jim Schmitz, Glen Dressman, Joe Maas, and Gwynn Hazen. Burial was in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort, with Military Honors by the Frankfort American Legion. Leo was born October 5, 1913, at Emmett, KS, the son of John and Mary (Rhenchir) Schrader. He graduated from Emmett High School and then served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Medic. He worked at Glynn Grocery and later owned and operated the Star Grocery & Meat Market in Frankfort until the early 1970's. He was a member of Annuciation Catholic Church, Knights of Columubus, and the Frankfort American Legion. Leo is survived by his sister, Florence Craig of Omaha, Nebraska, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. A memorial fund will be designated at a later date and contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
