Grace A. Burton, 84, of Marysville, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Cambridge Place. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, at Marysville Christian Fellowship. Rev. Rick Glowacki officiated. Julie Olberding sang "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)". The pallbearers were Ron Burton, Bruce Koelzer, Dale Meinecke, Ed Hawkins, Roger Strathman and Jack Detweiler. The honorary pallbearers were Joe Jimenez, Jack Boyle, Ember Lowrey, Dana Drake, Myra Dixon, Pam Hagglund, Jocelyn Payne, Tracy Gwynn, Stori Butts and Lexi Binggeli. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Grace was born near Home, KS on July 17, 1925, to John and Alice (Krause) Johnson. She attended area country schools and Marysville High School. On December 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Marion Burton in Summerfield, KS. Together they farmed south of Summerfield until moving to Marysville in 1975. The land they farmed has been in the Burton family for over a century. Grace enjoyed farmwork, gardening, needle work and word puzzles. Grace attended Marysville Christian Fellowship and her church family was very dear to her. She was also a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion in 2000; son, Dick in 1993; two brothers, Keith and Winton “Shorty” Johnson; and one sister, Fern Scheibe-Eck. Survivors include two daughters, Boni Binggeli and husband Pete of Midland, TX, Mrs. Ed (Peggy) Hasenkamp of Axtell; one brother, Galen Johnson and wife Maureen of Lincoln, NE; one sister, Glenda Shotwell of Wichita; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to Marysville Christian Fellowship Childrens Ministry. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsely Mortuary.
