Delmar L. Sand, 72, of Hanover, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. Father David Metz officiated. Karen Hynek was the organist. Eucharist ministers were Rich and Janeen Landoll, Don Landoll and Phyllis Allerheilgen. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Sand, Phil Landoll, Jared Allerheiligen, Todd Landoll, Ryan Owen, Jed Smith and Brett Landoll. Delmar was born at Mahaska, Ks on November 11, 1937 to Leroy and Laura (McAtee) Sand. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Sedlacek’s Furniture Store for 27 years, and was a master assembler at Landoll Corporation. Delmar was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. John’s Catholic Church. On June 15, 1963 he was united in marriage to Doris J. Landoll. She survives. He is also survived by sons, Donald Sand of Marysville, Daryl Sand of Wichita, Derek Sand of Hanover, Denis Sand of Olathe; daughters, Daphne Brockman of Kellen, Tx , Dana Boatman of Osage Beach, Mo, Dodie Shockley of Hanover and Danielle Sinn of Hanover; brother, Mike Sand of Sprauge, Ne ; sisters Laura LeTeel of Crete Ne , Billie Jo Carel of Beatrice, Ne; mother-in-law, Vera Landoll of Hanover; and 15 grandchildren. Delmar was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lee; and a sister, Evelyn Ungerer. A memorial fund was established and will be designated at a later time.
