Nina M. Musil, 88, of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Cambridge Place. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. The Rev. Judy Scott officiated. Hannah Malotte played the piano while Wayne Kruse sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand”. The flutist, Nicole Hlaus, played “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Jason Musil, Andrew Musil, Justin Musil, Nathan Musil, Ted Smith and Kevin McKee. The honorary pallbearers were Matt Musil, Tyler Hlaus, Ryan Musil, Timothy Musil, Larry Miller and Roger Miller. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Nina was born July 23, 1921, at Winifred, KS, the daughter of Roy and Edith (Clark) McKee. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1939. She received a teachers certificate and taught at Reedsville Country School west of Winifred. In 1959 she started the hot lunch program at Home City School. She later worked at the Food Supervisor at Mary Marshall Manor before retiring in 1993. Nina was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ where she was active with the quilting ladies and Ladies Fellowship. She helped as a cooking and sewing leader for 4H. She also volunteered with Agency on Aging, delivered Meals on Wheels and helped with bingo at the nursing home. She made many lap robes for the residents at the nursing home. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and making chocolate chip and molasses cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Russell McKee; and one sister, Lucille Schmitd. Survivors include four sons, Wayne Musil and wife Becky of Home, Doug Musil and wife Sheila of Eskridge, KS, Dale Musil and wife Joleen of Marysville, David Musil and wife Mary of Salina; two sisters, Edna Mae Gee of Marysville, and Bobbie Godbout of Blue Rapids; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
