Alice E. Throm, 83, of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Cambridge Place. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, at the St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Bob Welch accompanied the church choir as they sang "I Am The Bread of Life", "Panis Angelicus", "On Eagles Wings", "Song of Farewell" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Jason Throm, Travis Throm, Donovan Throm, Christopher Throm, Michael Linck and Adam Bieker. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Alice was born on November 5, 1926 to William and Elizabeth (Menke) Droegemueller at Hanover, Kansas. On April 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Everett R. Throm at Hanover. They lived in Marysville where they raised 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. Alice was a member of the St. Gregory's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker for many years until the health of her husband had her seek employment in the community. She worked for 10 years at the Marshall County Nursing Home where she retired. Alice had a stroke in July of 2009 which she then resided at the Cambridge Place until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Margaret O'Toole and Gertrude Stonger; a brother Albert Droegemueller; and two grandsons, Randy Throm and Henry Linck. Survivors include her children; Everett "Butch Throm, Marysville, Raymond "Jose" Throm, Marysville, Sarah Anne Throm, Beattie, Dale Throm, Plumas Lake, CA, Susan Ashley, Marysville, Bruce Throm, Marysville, Sandra Fye, Bremen, Ann Strifler, Bennington, Daryl Throm, Taunton, MA, and Marjorie Padgett, Blue Rapids; brother, William Droegemueller, Hanover; fourteen grandchildren, Kimberly, John, Dale Jr., Brandi, April, Jason, Travis, Jennifer, Michael, Donoven, Larissa, Christopher, Brittany and Melissa; and ten great-grandchildren, Breindel, Haley, Kloyee, Fernando, Hunter, Addison, Aydan, Kaydence, Megan and Karleigh. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family at a later time. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
