Stephen Francis Cosgrove, 67, Marysville, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Cambridge Place in Marysville after battling cancer. A private service will be at a later date. Stephen Cosgrove was born March 8, 1943, at Houston, the son of Francis Lee “Casey” and Phyllis Loretta Estep Cosgrove. He married Elizabeth Evanosky on Jan. 1, 1975, in Texas. They later divorced. He married Carol Tamsing on Jan. 1, 1993, in Hawaii. They later divorced. He played minor league baseball between 1961 and 1967, played for the Baltimore Orioles and then tended bar at Nick’s Fishmarket, a fine-dining seafood restaurant. He moved to Kansas in 2003. He enjoyed playing professional baseball, golfing, bartending, spending time with his sons, and he especially enjoyed laughing. Survivors include his mother, Marysville; his sons, Atticus Cosgrove, Clarksville, Md., and Alexander Cosgrove, Greenbelt, Md.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
