Peggy Ann Procopio (Diederich), 68, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Barnes, Kansas, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on June 2, 2010 at the Kansas City North Hospital. A rosary was held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 4 at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5 at the church, with Father David Metz officiating. The Choir sang, "Come To Me", "Those Who See Light", "Behold The Lamb, "Song Of Farewell", and "How Lovely Is Your Dwelling Place accompanied by Janet Fritschi on the organ. Pallbearers were Eric Short, Kevin Hynek, Patrice Lecomte, Justin Diederich, Anthony Procopio Ross, and Dominique Lecomte. Burial was in the church cemetery. Peggy was born March 15, 1942 at Waterville, KS, to Lloyd and Ella (Meyer) Diederich. She graduated from Barnes High School in 1960. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Walter (Tony); daughters, Lynette Ross (David) of Platte Woods, MO, Lisa Lecomte (Patrice) of Chandler, AZ, Andrea Short (Eric) of Chandler, AZ; seven grandchildren; brother, Ronald Diederich (Ginny) of Lenexa, KS; Nieces, nephews, and friends are also left to mourn her death.
