Edna Louise Leseberg, 87, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at her home north of Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church north of Bremen. Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Bev Crome played the organ while the congregation sang “The Lord’s My Shepherd”, “How Great Thou Art” and “Just As I Am.” The pallbearers was Lyle Stohs, Tom Luppen, Scott Schotte, Allan Saathoff, Charles Linkugel and Lyle Westwood. Burial was in the church cemetery. Edna Louise was born on December 10, 1922, to Menno H. and Agnes (Heggy) Saathoff in rural Marshall County. Pastor Sthuthut baptized her at home. Edna attended Emmanuel State Line Lutheran Church and was confirmed in 1937 by Rev. Janson. She attended 8 grades at Green Valley Country School. On April 20, 1947 Edna was united in marriage to Wilfred Leseberg at the Emmanuel State Line Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children. She was a member of the church, of the Dorcas Society and the Ladies Aid. Her parents; a brother, Alfred Saathoff; sisters, Corrine Westwood and an infant sister; son-in-law, Jerry Weiche; and daughter-in-law, Terri Leseberg, preceded Edna in death. Survivors include her husband, Wilfred; daughter, Beverly Weiche, Barnes; two sons, Jim Leseberg and wife Alvera, Herkimer, Roger Leseberg, Syracuse, NY; sister, Wilma Linkugel (Herman), Lincoln, NE; and grandchildren, Michelle Luppen and husband Tom, Marysville, Jami Schotte and husband Scott, Bremen, Vincent Leseberg, Syracuse, NY; step-grandson, Derek Bakoy, Syracuse; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Noah Luppen, Evan and Nathan Schotte. Memorials will benefit Lutheran Hour Ministry or Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
