Monte Lee Cook, Sr.

Monte Lee Cook, Sr., 40, of Onaga, KS, formerly of Marysville, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at his residence. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 23, at Kinsley Mortuary. Father Tony Putti officiated. The pallbearers were Zach Cook, Larry Cook, Monte Cook, Jr., Michael Cook, Monte Leishing and Danny Desroches. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Monte was born on February 15, 1970 at Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Larry and Shirley Price Cook. He attended Saydel High School in Des Moines, Iowa. He painted grain elevators and did construction and home remodeling. Monte lived in Marysville from 1995 to 2000. He recently moved to Onaga. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include three children, Monte Lee Cook, Jr. of Des Moines, IA., Zachery and Bryanna Cook of Marysville; father, Larry N. Cook of Glenwood, IA; three brothers, Steve Cook, Talmage, NE, Larry P. Cook, Dunbar, NE, and Brian Cook, Fountain, CO. His mother mother, Shirley, and two brothers, Michael Cook and Dennis Cook, preceded him in death.
