Myrtle A. Bestwick

Myrtle A. Bestwick, 96, of Vermillion, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Community Hospital in Onaga. A funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 6 at the Christian Church in Vermillion. Rev. Virgil Warren officiated. The pallbearers were Frank Deleon, Jamie Kramer, Chris Kramer, Brad Gouty, Jim Cornelison and Kent Stowell. Burial in the Vermillion Cemetery. Myrtle was born on August 22, 1913, at Pomona, Kansas, daughter of Clyde and Maude (Stark) Marvin. On February 14, 1929, she married Lester Bestwick at Falls City, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and has been a resident of Vermillion since 1959. She was a member of the Christian Church in Vermillion and enjoyed listening to music. Survivors include her daughter, Violet Dotson of Vermillion; son, Roy Bestwick of McDonough, Georgia; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Her parents; husband, Lester in 1983; two sons, Gerald Bestwick in 1962 and Eldon Bestwick in 1973; and brother, Carl Marvin, preceded her in death.
