Paul H. Dwerlkotte, 80, of Beattie, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Beattie. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, at the church. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Jane Sedlacek was the organist and Wayne Kruse was the vocalist. Music included “I Am the Bread of Life”, “Amazing Grace”, “Bread Blessed and Broken”, “Only a Shadow”, “You Are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Brian Strunk, Jared Strunk, Paul Studer, Joe Studer, Jim Knight and Wayne Hermesch. The honorary pallbearers were Joe Peschel, Tim Olmsted, Gene Peschel, Phillip Studer, Melvin Rombeck and Bill Sandmann. Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery north of Beattie. Paul was born on October 11, 1929 at Marysville, the son of Henry and Regina Kamphaus Dwerlkotte. He graduated from Beattie High School in 1947. He married Marie Ronnebaum on April 27, 1955 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Paul was a longtime farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Vermillion Water Board, Rural Water Board of Beattie and a member of the National Farm Organization. Paul enjoyed farming and hunting. His parents and brother, Francis, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Marie Dwerlkotte of Beattie; two sons, David Dwerlkotte and wife, Deb, Frankfort, Jay Dwerlkotte and wife, Deb, Beattie; two daughters, Mary Jane Strunk and husband, Greg, Home, Amy Dwerlkotte and husband, Larry Sellers, Pawhuska, OK; one brother, Henry Dwerlkotte, Sacramento, CA; three sisters, Elizabeth Studer, Hildegard Knight and Cecila Oppedale, all of Beattie; and five grandchildren.
